Applications/uses of 3D models

For anything to exist in 3D it must be modelled. A few examples include objects for 3D environments, animations and games, scenery, products, buildings and characters. After that the models can be rendered, animated and used for almost any digital 3D purpose.

This example shows how a 3D model of a lamp-post is first made then rendered and used for a particular purpose. In this particular example the model has been used as part of the scenery of a 3D animation. This example also shows how a 3D object can be animated, in the picture where the 3D lamp-post model is labelled as part of an animation the lamp-post has been animated to fall over to give the impression that the 3D character in the image knocks it over as he is walking past.
